Shopping Mall Concept

The uk8ball.com online shop has proved extremely successful. Sales have gone from £0 when it was launched in 2001 to almost £100,000 at present. We now sell many hundreds of different products from over 40 suppliers and are rapidly becoming one of the biggest suppliers of quality equipment for 8-ball pool in the UK. All this has been achieved on a part time basis with little or no investment. The key to this success is the link to the uk8ball.com family of websites.

uk8ball.com is by far the biggest pool "community" in the UK. We host around 100 pool related websites and get in excess of 12 million page hits per month. Around 50,000 pool players are regular visitors to these sites and all are potential customers. These numbers are still growing and the sites will attract even more visitors when exciting new projects such as our directory of places to play and our Online Pool gaming facility are launched in the next few months.

Many companies already realise the power of our sites and several try to "advertise" their products in our forums despite it being against our rules. Several have offered us money to put adverts or links to their sites on ours and several more are keen to employ us as "distributors" for their products. Some of these companies already have their own web sites, some good, some not so good. What they don't have is a huge number of pool players visiting their site on a regular basis. Setting up a site is relatively easy but making people aware of it and getting them to visit it is not so easy.

Part of the uk8ball philosophy is to provide the pool player with everything they could possible want. The current sites give them info about events, help them run leagues, give them advice and allows them to discuss any subject under the sun. The directory will enable them find places to play. The next step is to enable them to see, discuss and purchase any item of pool related equipment that is available. The plan for this is as follows :

The current uk8ball on-line store will become a shopping mall containing an infinite number of cue sports related stores.

Suppliers of cue sports equipment who don't already have an e-commerce website, or want a better one will be able to "purchase" a shop in our mall. This will get them an online shop with the same facilities as our current shop, on our site, alongside similar shops. More importantly it will give them the opportunity to sell their products directly to the tens of thousands of pool players who regularly use our sites.

Suppliers who already have their own on-line store will be able to purchase an advert in the mall, including a direct link to their site if required.

The cost of both these options will depend on a number of factors, most of which will be negotiable. Basically any deal where we can help suppliers sell product and get rewarded for this will be considered.

NOTE: The initial mall will be for retail customers only but future plans include the facility to allow trade customers to access trade prices etc via a password protected entry point.
